A program hiding inside a useful program with malicious purposes. Unlike viruses, a trojan doesn’t replicate itself and it is commonly used to establish a backdoor to be exploited by attackers.


Emotet Trojan

Emotet became famous in 2018 after the U.S. Department of Homeland security
named it one of the most dangerous and destructive malwares. The purpose of
Emotet was to spy on classified data and acsess foriegn devices. Emotet is commonly
used to steal finanncial information. It is often spread through emails and spam
campaigns.

Zeus Trogan

The Zeus trojan was created in 2007 and has since caused over $100 million in damage.
It is commonly spread through emails, and fake websites. Zeus has the ability to copy
keystrokes and is often used to steal sensitive passwords and information for bank
accounts.
